Program Details

The online Post-Bachelor Certificate in School Librarian program is an add-on to teacher certification.  This program prepares students to work in primary and secondary schools’ libraries.  Courses include:
  • Library Reference
  • Technical Services in Libraries
  • Children's Literature and Related Material
  • Books and Related Material for the Secondary School
  • School Library Administration


  • Requires 18 credits for completion
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited U.S. institution or its foreign equivalent
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 (4.0 scale) on all undergraduate work attempted or a minimum GPA of 2.75 on all upper-division course work attempted
  • Good academic standing at the last institution attended
  • Official copies of transcripts sent from each institution attended
  • Must hold a current valid teaching certificate
