Education Specialist in Educational Leadership

Program Details

The online Education Specialist with a concentration in Educational Leadership program is an advanced degree designed for students hoping to develop advanced knowledge and theory in educational leadership beyond the master’s degree level.  Students may pursue either the Educational Leadership or Educational Technology concentrations.  Courses include:

  • Developing a Vision for an Effective Learning Community 
  • School Culture and Dispositions 
  • Professional Ethics and School Law 
  • School Improvement: Utilizing Data to Lead Change
  • Management of School Resources and Personnel

Requirements

  • Requires 36 credits for completion
  • Master of Education degree in an educational discipline other than Educational Leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited U.S. institution or its foreign equivalent
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 (4.0 scale) on all undergraduate work attempted or a minimum GPA of 2.75 on all upper-division course work attempted
  • Good academic standing at the last institution attended
  • Official copies of transcripts sent from each institution attended
  • Must hold a current valid teaching certificate
  • Three successful years of teaching experience at the time of admission
