McKinley College specializes in distance learning programs, and recognizes the need of higher education in professional working adults. The College offers several online degrees in basic business and healthcare areas of study, one concentration is in the subject of Accounting.

Accounting is necessary in the business industry as those individuals are responsible for keeping financial records up to date, fund future projects, allocate payroll and abide by many strict legal requirements.  McKinley College’s Accounting program should give students the opportunity to earn a valuable degree while fulfilling current career and family obligations.  The advanced education will prepare graduates for accountant positions in small or large firms in need of financially savvy and formally trained professionals.  Earning an Associate's degree is one step students can take in the higher education path.  The focused courses will lay the foundation for further educational goals in the pursuit of earning a Bachelor's or Master’s degree at another institution.

The core accounting courses cover topics of marketing, economics, business law, taxes and ethics.  These courses should give students the needed understanding of business functions to enter firms with a significant knowledge or the skills to become an entrepreneur in the industry.  Students will be able to study courses through interactive online programs, with industry involved faculty members.  A specialized curriculum, experienced faculty and flexible learning format allow students and graduates to excel in personal aspirations as well as contribute a current and competitive work ethic to hiring organizations.

    School Overview

McKinley College originally began through its parent company, Weston Distance Learning in 1981, in response to a growing demand for “high-quality and affordable degree-granting distance education” targeting the adult sector. Founded in 2006, Weston leadership opened McKinley College in order to reach a demographic beyond the typical physical campus, to include professionals seeking career moves, work-from-home individuals, along with military personnel and retirees looking for new challenges.

Programs are taught by qualified instructors with “advanced degrees in their subject areas” and all course materials are subjected to “academic review” for approval. McKinley offers individualized scheduling and most students can complete their associate’s degree in sixteen months. Furthermore, McKinley College retains articulation agreements with select schools for students planning to further pursue a bachelor’s degree.
