Program Details

The online Associate of Applied Science in Medical Specialties prepares students to become successful assets in the medical administrative field, readying them for healthcare careers in hospitals, pharmacies, clinics, and administrative roles.  Courses cover topics including medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, pharmacy, statistical and data analysis, diagnostic coding, and medical billing.  Students also learn about innovative developments in the healthcare industry and informatics, along with skills in delegating responsibilities, social awareness, public responsibility, and legal and industry standards.


  • Must have successfully graduated from a state-recognized high school, completed the GED or have earned a college degree from a college accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
