Program Details

The online Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Technology prepares students with the most current and effective resources for ensuring efficient care of patients, giving them the understanding of healthcare functions needed to become successful assets in most medical and health departments.  The curriculum covers topics including medical terminology, computer applications, anatomy and physiology, disease process, statistics and data analysis, and diagnostic coding.  Students learn to become successful administrators of healthcare offices, gaining skills in delegating responsibilities, social awareness, public responsibility, and legal and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Must have successfully graduated from a state-recognized high school, completed the GED or have earned a college degree from a college accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
