McKinley College originally began through its parent company, Weston Distance Learning in 1981, in response to a growing demand for “high-quality and affordable degree-granting distance education” targeting the adult sector. Founded in 2006, Weston leadership opened McKinley College in order to reach a demographic beyond the typical physical campus, to include professionals seeking career moves, work-from-home individuals, along with military personnel and retirees looking for new challenges.
Programs are taught by qualified instructors with “advanced degrees in their subject areas” and all course materials are subjected to “academic review” for approval. McKinley offers individualized scheduling and most students can complete their associate’s degree in sixteen months. Furthermore, McKinley College retains articulation agreements with select schools for students planning to further pursue a bachelor’s degree.
