Administrator I Course Sequence
McDaniel College's Administrator 1 Course Sequence provides the opportunity for those who already have their master's to become a certified Administrator 1 in Maryland or Pennsylvania without completing a second master's program. Upon successful completion, students will have the required coursework to meet MSDE and PDE eligibility for Administrator 1 certification. This certification will qualify recipients to be assigned as a supervisor in instruction or assistant principal in Maryland, or a principal in Pennsylvania. Courses for this sequence are offered at centers throughout Maryland, with some courses also offered online.
Students will have opportunities to apply what they have learned in the classroom in their own schools. Another advantage is the flexibility offered in the scheduling of courses, with classes being offered in face-to-face, online, and hybrid forms. The small class sizes in this sequence allow students to receive one-on-one interaction with professors. McDaniel also has working partnerships with local school systems to help its students get jobs upon completion of the sequence.
Students must have a master’s degree from an accredited academic institution and hold a valid Maryland Teaching Certificate and twenty-seven months of satisfactory teaching performance or satisfactory performance as a specialist as defined in COMAR 13A.12.04.
