Massasoit Community College offers a Child Care Education and Administration Transfer Option. This program was created as a career options for those who are interested in working with young children. The program will allow students to fully understand the requirements in the Child Care Education field to help them with their future careers.
The Child Care Education and Administration department will prepare their students for the Certification of Early Education and Care. Students will start work and preparation as the lead teacher for six months. After their work experience they will then work as a Director in a childcare setting.
Individuals will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in this field. Along with this, students will also gain the understanding needed to work in a multi-cultural society. The program is designed to give students a wide range of childcare experience that will help them in their future studies at other universities.
The Child Care Education and Administration Transfer Option’s program of study meets the standards of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. To complete the program, students must take a minimum of 63 credits, and a total of 21 courses. Students must also be aware that one course can’t be used for two different course requirements. Once completed, students will be applicable for the Child Care Education Certificate.
The transfer option was also created to meet the requirements of the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education Transfer Compact. The program helps students successfully transfer from Massasoit Community College into four-year universities that hold childcare preparation programs.

Massasoit Community College is a two-year public school located in Brockton, Massachusetts. The school was founded in 1966 and was named for the Massasoit, the Great Sachem of the Wampanoag. MCC has three campuses, which are located in Brockton, Canton, and Middleboro.
Massasoit Community College offers certificates of completion and associate’s degrees. Classes are offered during the daytime, evening, and weekend. Online courses are offered to provide flexibility and convenience to students who may not be able to come to the MCC campus. Courses are instructor-led and follow the same semester schedule as face-to-face courses.
