Certificate in Management
The Certificate in Management program offered by Massachusetts Bay Community College is a program of study that is available to students in a completely online format. This program is intended for students who wish to broaden and advance their current careers and to establish framework for further Business studies. Students who wish to eventually apply to a Business related program within an Associate’s degree program are a good fit for the Certificate of Management. This program is intended to be an introduction to various areas of management studies for students who have already earned a technical or LIberal Arts related education or vocation. Individuals who wish to add a Business education related dimension to their educational and vocational accomplishments are an appropriate fit for this program.
This program offers students a curriculum in Management and foundations in Accounting, Business Law, Human Resource Management, computer applications, marketing, and microeconomics. Students can also choose their free electives in either business or business related Psychology courses. Students who are enrolled in the Certificate in Management program are required to take and complete 25 to 26 credit hours of courses. This does not include General Education courses. General Education courses are only required if a student is enrolled in a Liberal Arts degree such as an Associate’s degree program. The courses that are required for this program include: Financial Accounting, Microcomputer Applications for Business, Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Management, Principles of Business Law, Human Resource Management, Principles of Marketing, and an open elective.
