The origins of Marygrove College date back to 1845 in the town of Monroe, Michigan, where Theresa Maxis founded St. Mary’s Academy, a Catholic school for women. Marygrove descended from her efforts and has led the way in teacher education since 1905 with its introduction of a two-year college for women. In 1910 it became a four-year institution, and by 1970 it became a co-educational facility.
Marygrove Online offers a Bachelor of Criminal Justice degree, in which the program prepares students for a job in law enforcement, corrections, or private security, as well as several master's degrees in education completely online.
