Masters in Communication: Organizational Communication & Leadership
Marist College offers an online Master of Arts degree in Communication, specializing in refining inpiduals' communication skills for perse audiences. persity is a key aspect of this program as students will focus on theory, research, analysis, and writing to understand how differences in organizational structure and culture impact the dissemination of ideas. Likewise, students are challenged to become leaders who develop strategies for addressing potential conflicts.
Students can enroll in a full-time or part-time program. Full-time students take 10 classes in one academic year broken down into four courses in the spring and fall semester and two courses in the summer. Part-time students take five courses per year. Both paths have comprehensive exams in the third week of August.
Admission requirements include a graduate application with accompanying fee of $50, official undergraduate/graduate transcripts from all institutions attended, a current résumé, recommendation letters from three references, a personal essay, and an official GRE score.

- Persuasion, Media Relations
- Organizational Communication
- Interpersonal Communication
- The Role of Communication in Conflict and Negotiation
- Leadership Communication
- A Seminar in Communication (non-thesis track)
- Managing Organizational Change
Those students wishing to pursue a PhD in Communication have the opportunity to write a thesis for this MA degree. To enroll in the thesis option the student must do so by October 1 (first year for full-time students and second year for part-time students).
