Business Management Online Program
Marion Technical College
Marion Technical College offers an Associate of Applied Business in Business Management program for students interested in careers within fields of leadership, business and management. The program can be completed entirely online with courses offered in the spring and fall. Prospective students that are interested in the program should complete Marion Technical College’s Online Learner Self-Assessment to see if the online format is the right choice.
In order to enroll in the program, students must be proficient in college reading, writing, math and Microsoft Office. The program will accept students that have met all application requirements on a first-come, first-served basis. Students that have been accepted into the online program will have priority enrollment with all online courses.
Students will be required to take a total 65 credit hours to graduate from the program. Within those 65 credits, students will be required to complete four semesters with varying courses and semester credit requirements. Students will need to complete 15 credit hours in the first semester, 19 credits in the second semester, 16 credits in the third semester, and 15 credits in the fourth and last semester. Some courses that students will be required to take in the second semester are Principles of Marketing, Financial Accounting, Ethics, Excel Advanced, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and English Composition II.
The program will provide multiple business, computer, management and communication courses. Instructors will teach students the interview, leadership, administrative, and organizational skills that will required within the modern business environment. Students will receive hands on practice with applying financial, marketing, and management strategies to create an efficient business plan. Upon graduation, students will be able to utilize technology and effective communication skills to solve business related problems. Graduates may find careers as a Office Manager, Sales Manager, Loan Officer, Assistant Manager, Insurance Representative, and Marketing Supervisor.
