Program Details

The online Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Technology in the Medical Coding & Reimbursement Track is designed to prepare students for the fields of health information technology and management by teaching a variety of concepts.  The curriculum covers topics such as electronic health records, medical terminology, health information management, health informatics, diagnosis and computer applications.  Students will also learn about healthcare reimbursement methodologies, quality improvement, legal issues, and resource management.


  • ACT scores with a minimum composite score of 18, or successful completion of college-level required program courses with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Successful completion of the ACT or Accuplacer in reading, writing, and mathematics (algebra)
  • High school transcripts (or GED results) and college transcripts (if applicable)
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA in high school or college-level courses (whichever is most recent)
  • Criminal background check
