Courses offered during the certificate program include: Access-Intermediate, Word-Advanced, Access-Advanced, Excel-Advanced, Publisher and PowerPoint-Advanced. All courses can be taken at the Downtown Education Center or the Fort Atkinson, Reedsburg, Truax and Watertown campuses. Students may also choose to complete some of the certificate program courses completely online. All students must earn a grade of “C” or higher with all courses and complete the certificate program with a minimum GPA of 2.0.  As with the Basic Certificate in Microsoft Office program, some classes will be offered in a bilingual format.

If a student believes he/she has sufficient work experience, is a Certified Professional Secretary, Certified Administrative Professional, or have already taken some program classes, the student may be granted “advanced standing.” The advanced standing designation will be given to a student who has successfully passed the Challenge Exam, however, advanced standing can only be achieved with 50% of the program courses.

Upon completion of the certificate program, students may find potential careers such as Administrative Assistant, Secretarial Assistant, Program Assistant, Office Assistant, Document Specialist, Customer Service Representative, Office Administrator, Data Entry Operator and Executive Assistant.
