Graduate Certificate in Dietetics
Louisiana Tech University offers a Graduate Certificate in Dietetics for students interested in furthering their knowledge on the subject of dietetics. Acquiring this certificate will further a student’s skills and knowledge in this field which will enhance their performance as professionals. Students must register for the program at the beginning of the quarter before beginning. This program is well suited for individuals who are already in this career field or those who plan to enter the career field.
The Graduate Certificate in Dietetics Program consists of 15 credit hours. Courses required include Methodology in Human Ecology Research, Applied Dietetics, two additional 500-level FNU graduate courses, and one additional course. Students may choose one of the following to serve as their additional course: Food and Nutrition, Family and Child Studies, Human Ecology, Kinesiology, Counseling, Psychology, Biological Sciences, Health Informatics and Information Management, or a related area that is approved by the student’s advisor.
Any courses completed at another institution may not be transferred into the Graduate Certificate in Dietetics Program. These courses may be applied towards the M.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics that is offered at Louisiana Tech University. All courses are available online and has the potential to be completed in one semester. This online learning environment allows students to have a flexible experience and keep their employment status while working towards their certificate.
