English as a Second Language Graduate Certificate Program
Louisiana Tech University offers English as a Second Language Graduate Certificate Program for students who have already acquired their teacher certification and teach children with limited English-speaking ability. Students enrolled in the program must register for certificate completion at the beginning of the quarter when certificate requirements are completed. This certificate is well suited for individuals who are already in this career field or those who plan to enter the career field.
The English as a Second Language Graduate Certificate Program consists of 15 credit hours. Courses that are required to earn this certificate include Curriculum Design for the Multicultural Classroom, English Grammar in ESL, Methods for Teaching and Testing in ESL, Cross-Cultural Communication for ESL, and Diverse Learners.
Any courses completed at another institution may not be transferred into the English as a Second Language Graduate Certificate Program. All courses are available online and can potentially be finished in at least one semester. This online learning environment allows students to have a flexible experience and keep their employment status while working towards this certificate.
