Program Overview

Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Medical College offers a Human Services Certificate which gives students the opportunity to further their skills in the human services career field. The Human Services Certificate provides students with basic tools to assist those already working in the field and who plan to enter. Students enrolled in this program might find employment in settings such as government, medical, non-profit, and various other human service agencies. Some of the required courses include Introduction to Psychology, Personal and Community Health Problems, and Current Social Problems. Students may choose from the following electives: Child’s Psychology, Adolescent Psychology, Marriage and Family, or Criminology. All courses are available online through LSU’s distance learning program. This allows students to have a flexible experience while working towards their degree.
