Longwood University offers a Master of Business Administration degree for students and professionals in businesses who are interested in developing advanced and specialized knowledge of business management and business organizations in order to establish themselves as administrators and managers. Students will learn the business and entrepreneurial skills necessary to advance their career and meet the demands of the workplace.
Students will take part in a curriculum designed to hone their knowledge of advanced business practices, business operations, and management techniques necessary for leadership and administrative roles within business organizations. Those classes include managerial accounting, strategic marketing, leadership, managing data, financial management, information technology, managerial economics, consumer behavior, supply chain management, strategic retail management, and business policy.
Students will have demonstrated their qualification to function as mid-level and high-level management in business through completion of the program. These qualifications include the ability to develop business ideas based on strategy, to design marketing strategies and plans specific to consumer and market needs in global markets, to create technology innovation plans based on consumer needs that bring about growth in corporate products, to develop and recommend preferred human resource systems and plans sensitive to organizational human behavior in different global contexts, to use accounting and financial information for decision-making purposes in diverse business settings and situations, and to develop operations plans and determine appropriate quality improvement strategies for product manufacturing and service delivery in diverse global cultures and environments.
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university, and either an Undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale). A personal essay. Official transcripts. Three recommendations. A GMAT/GRE wavier may be available for some.

While all classes are online, students come to campus during the summers for an on-campus, extended weekend residency. Part-time students complete three residencies, full-time students complete two.
