Program Details

This PC Desktop Specialist Certificate is designed to augment and validate current occupation skills by acquiring computer skills. Having the certificate will assist graduates in gaining employment in a variety of fields that use personal computers.

Students learn to take control of their personal computer by gaining a working knowledge of a variety of software and hardware. Topics included in this certificate are introduction to business computing, intermediate to advanced software applications and PC hardware and software support.

A desktop support specialist is a trained computer expert who provides technical support to users of computer software and hardware running the Windows®, Macintosh®, or Linux® operating system. Most often, a support specialist works within a company's information technology department, as a member of the help desk staff at a computer support company, or as an independent contractor.
