The Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Military/Veterans & Their Families is an online Marriage & Family Therapy degree. This degree is for those interested in working with a very specific group with unique needs – active military personnel, veterans of active combat, and the families of these individuals. You will learn how to help these people manage and overcome emotional disorders and problems related to the military, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, frequent moving around, and issues related to either serving or having loved ones serve in a combat zone. In addition, students will gain familiarity with the military and how issues are handled, as well as any other military-related information that is required for this unique type of counseling.  

This online marriage and family therapy degree also teaches students core courses related to any mental health counseling program, including assessment, differential diagnosis, ethics, client advocacy, treatment and prevention, and ways to counsel diverse populations. Graduates are prepared to help clients understand their problems and develop strategies to improve their lives.
