Program Overview

The Associate of Arts in Law Enforcement is a transferable degree program offered by Lincoln Land Community College in Illinois. Students wishing to pursue a bachelor degree in Law Enforcement from a senior institution like a four-year college or university should consider this degree. A higher degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement can open doors to mid-level positions in varying careers in that field. These courses include EGL 111 and 102 Composition I and II, SPE 101 Public Speaking Fundamentals, and POS 101 or 201 Introduction to American Politics or State and Local Government. Recommended general education courses include: MAT 104 General Education Mathematics and PHI 205 Ethics: Morality and Contemporary Values. Students also need to complete additional courses in Humanities, Life Science, Physical Science, and two Social Science classes to fulfill requirements.

Recommended courses that fulfill requirements specific to the Associate of Arts in law Enforcement degree are: CRJ 105 Introduction to Criminal Justice, CRJ 201 The Juvenile Defender, CRJ 207 Substance Abuse, CRJ 251 Crime, Justice, and Social persity, LEA 106 Introduction to Police Services, LEA 110 Fundamentals of Investigation, and LEA 201 Substantive Criminal Law. CRJ 104 Introduction to Human Services is a recommended elective.

The recommended time frame for completion of this degree is over the course of four semesters. Four to six courses each semester should be taken to fulfill requirements in this time span.
