The Certificate of Achievement in Entrepreneurship is an occupational program offered by Lincoln Land Community College in Illinois. The program is intended for individuals whom want to set up or work in an online e-business environment. Some occupations that are appropriate for recipients of this certificate are: general and operating managers, business teachers (post-secondary), and Economics teachers (post-secondary). These courses are for expansion and review, more than introduction.
Students must take 30 credit hours of classes for completion of this program. The required courses include: ACC 100 Introduction to Accounting, BUS 125 Entrepreneurship, BUS 126 Fundamentals of E-Business, BUS 127 E-Business Strategy, BUS 128 E-Customer Service, BUS 130 Human Resource Management, BUS 202 Principles of Marketing, BUS 204 Management, BUS 230 Leadership, and BUS 231 Organizational Behavior. These classes serve as a foundation and expansion of a student’s ideas of business and especially online business.
The Entrepreneurship class is designed as an introduction to the principles and challenges of establishing and operating a small business. The topics covered include: state and federal legal impingements, management skills and techniques, marketing strategy and policy, prerequisite skills and attitudes needed to enter small-business management as a profession, financial management, and employee relations. The classes in Leadership and Management cover the skills and knowledge needed to be effective managers and leaders. Problem solving and other methods are covered in Management. Leadership covers the importance of vision, authority, employee empowerment, diversity, and performance evaluations.
This online certification program from Lincoln Land Community College is a practical and convenient solution to students who lack the ability to access traditional education opportunities. Because of changes in federal guidelines prospective students of Lincoln Land Community College should be aware that only permanent residents of Illinois are able enroll in this program. Some exceptions can be made.
