Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies
A Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies Degree or Baccalaureate Degree from Limestone College prepares a student for many professional opportunities that require college education of a broad and extensive scope. This may not be available within the guidelines and curriculum of a traditional major. Limestone College gives students the advantage of designing a special, inpidualized course of study that is appropriate to a student’s special career, professional, or educational goal.
Approval from the program coordinator for Liberal Studies, who is also the Vice President for Academic Affairs must be gained before pursuing this degree. Also, a student who wishes to double major cannot include a Liberal Studies major in their academic plan. A Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies degree is also offered to students.
The student may utilize any of the courses listed in the Limestone College catalog. A minimum of 18 semester hours must be in the 200 or above level of courses. Additionally, 30 credit hours must be on the 300 or above level of study. A Baccalaureate student must successfully complete a minimum of 123 credit hours of courses, including Verbal and Quantitative Skills Requirements, General Education Requirements, Critical Thinking Requirements, and Assessment Examinations. The specific requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree entail 15 credit hours in the Natural Science or Professional Studies pisions at the level of 200 or above. Six credit hours of Writing Intensive Courses, beyond the General Education courses are necessary for graduation as well.
The Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies is one of many majors Limestone College offers that students may acquire via only online classes. This Virtual Campus Program is a non-traditional way to learn a traditional curriculum and is offered mainly to working adults whom have a goal to complete a college education without it interfering with their full-time employment or family circumstances. Financial Aid is offered to Limestone College students via Pell Grants, Work Study, etc. Institutional scholarships are also attainable to students based on: academic merit, need, leadership, residency, and performance in art, music, theatre, or athletics.

Limestone College is a four-year, private, non-denominational Christian, liberal arts college located in Gaffney, South Carolina. Limestone was established by Dr. Thomas Curtis and his son in 1845 as the first women’s school in the state as well as in the nation. The school became completely co-ed in the 1960s.
Limestone College programs lead to associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees, many of which are offered completely online.
