Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies
The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies Degree offered by Limestone College allows a student to design their own major in order to better equip them for a specialized career goal or higher degree. This program allows the student to receive a broader scope of an education and not be confined by the guidelines of a traditional major. In an ever-changing job market and academic environment, interdisciplinary approaches to education are considered to be broader and sometimes more fulfilling courses of study.
In pursuit of this degree a student must complete at least 123 credit hours of study including general education requirements, Verbal and Quantitative Skills requirements, and Assessment Examinations. In addition to the general required classes, the student utilizes the entire course catalog to build a major based on their specialized area of study. The student must be comprised of a minimum of 24 semester hours at a 200-level or above and 18 semester hours of 300-level courses or above. Since the Baccalaureate Degree is interdisciplinary, these courses must involve two separate academic pisions. Six credit hours of Writing Intensive classes are required beyond those necessary for general education.
A Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies Degree is also offered. A student must complete 15 credit hours of Natural Science and / or Professional Studies pision classes in order to receive this degree. Students who opt for this program must have their course of study approved by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, who is the program coordinator for Liberal Studies.
The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies is one of the five majors Limestone College offers that students may acquire via online classes. This Virtual Campus Program is a non-traditional way to learn a traditional curriculum and is offered mainly to working adults whom have a goal to complete a college education without it interfering with their full-time employment or family circumstances. Financial Aid is offered to Limestone College students via Pell Grants, Work Study, etc. Institutional scholarships are also attainable to students based on: academic merit, need, leadership, residency, and performance in art, music, theatre, or athletics.

Limestone College is a four-year, private, non-denominational Christian, liberal arts college located in Gaffney, South Carolina. Limestone was established by Dr. Thomas Curtis and his son in 1845 as the first women’s school in the state as well as in the nation. The school became completely co-ed in the 1960s.
Limestone College programs lead to associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees, many of which are offered completely online.
