Liberty University’s 100% online Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Christian Leadership – Ministry Leadership is designed to help students become leaders in Christian education, local churches, ministry organizations, nonprofit work, and more. Throughout this program, students will explore how to plan and oversee effective ministries that help foster spiritual growth in the church – and beyond. This degree is an excellent option for those who want to blend theory and praxis as well as conduct original research in the field of Christian leadership. Some of the topics covered in this program include biblical and theological foundations of leadership and education, organizational theory and development, and leadership and management theory. Students can also learn how to implement needed changes that allow churches and organizations to grow, use social networks to evangelize to non-Christians and facilitate edification in the church, and demonstrate principles of entrepreneurial leadership as they develop strategic initiatives in faith-based organizations.
