Liberty University

Program Details

Liberty University’s online Master of Arts (M.A.) in Humanitarian Action and Human Rights – Women’s and Children’s Care and Advocacy degree can help equip students to protect and assist women and children who are facing dangerous situations and human rights violations. Throughout this program, students can prepare to address issues that are especially pertinent to women and children – including human trafficking, domestic violence, abuse, neglect, and the sanctity of human life. This humanitarian action degree can help provide students with the skills, tools, and knowledge needed to serve in a variety of contexts – from crafting government legislation to interacting face-to-face with victims of trauma and oppression. In particular, students can become equipped to work with churches and faith-based non-governmental organizations (NGOs) around the world that seek to support women, children, and vulnerable populations. Students will have the opportunity to learn about intercultural communication, human rights law, crisis and first responder training, protection systems and interventions for supporting women and children in crisis, and more. Upon graduation, students can pursue roles as advocacy advisors, anti-trafficking advocates, disaster relief coordinators, humanitarian aid workers, international aid workers, and refugee care workers.
