Liberty University’s Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) in Spiritual Formation provides students with innovative strategies to facilitate the spiritual growth of small groups and individuals under their leadership. Students in this program can advance their knowledge of God’s Word, of the spiritual foundation of ministry and individuals, become more effective in leading their discipleship ministries, and meet others with similar passions. Building on studies from the master’s level, the online DMin – Spiritual Formation degree focuses on the leadership principles and essential skills for students in ministry leadership with an emphasis on strategies and methods to train up leaders in their ministry while cultivating a heart of worship and spiritual growth in the congregation. Students already in ministry leadership or who want to move into a new role will benefit from this program’s diverse and in-depth study of useful and effective ministry practices taught by professors with ministry experience. With a guided thesis project, students will study and apply advanced strategies and research to solve real-world ministry challenges. Graduates of this degree will be equipped for ministry roles in church and para-church organizations which need leaders with diverse ministry skillsets and expertise in developing large-scale spiritual development strategies. Graduates may pursue roles as discipleship pastors, pastoral counselors, senior church administrators or pastors, small group pastors, and youth pastors.
