This program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Through this program, you can complete the core competencies, student teaching, and practicum requirements necessary to earn your Virginia teaching license. You can receive at least 90 practicum hours and a full semester of student teaching prior to graduation. This program is designed for students who want to become licensed to teach elementary school, but it has the added benefit of giving you a special education add-on for grades k-6. Some examples of professions might be an elementary school teacher, education consultant, special education teacher, special education advocate, private school teacher, or curriculum coordinator.
