Program Details

Liberty University’s Associate of Arts in History provides foundational training in American and world history, civic and global engagement, and critical research and analysis skills. These skills will assist students in many career pursuits through knowledge of inquiry and research methods, communication skills, and analysis skills. Students in this program will study how to identify modern perspectives and appreciate events with informed insight that extend past the conventional wisdom. In this degree program, students will study the history of western civilization and how Christianity has helped to shape the world we live in. With a faculty of experienced historians, students in this degree will cultivate a love and appreciation for history and integrate Christian faith into all aspects of the degree. This program is a foundational degree for students interested in understanding culture, governance, and history while preparing to pursue a four-year bachelor’s degree in the future. Students will also be well-equipped for careers working in state and national parks, genealogical libraries, museums, history writing, and in entry-level government roles.
