Program Overview

LeTourneau University's Bachelor of Biblical Studies and Ministry degree offers a comprehensive curriculum focused on leadership, missions and doctrine. Courses such as Life and Teachings of Christ, Contemporary World Missions, Worship Leadership, and Christian Doctrine provide students with ministerial training and biblical instruction.

Graduates of the Bachelor of Biblical Studies and Ministry program are trained how to apply the Bible in real-life situations as well as have an appreciation and understanding of the Old and New Testaments. Graduates will be equipped with skills such as planning, teaching, and speaking that pertain to their field. The overall goal of both Biblical Studies programs at LETU is to provide students with the knowledge to expand their understanding of theological, biblical and ministerial concepts.

The Bachelor of Biblical Studies and Ministry degree at LETU requires students to complete a total of 124 credit hours in order to obtain their degree. Of these credit hours, 36 are major courses such as NewTestament, Old Testament, Christian Apologetics, Foundations of Christian Ministry, Contemporary World Missions, Evangelism and Discipleship, Ministry of Teaching Worship Leadership, Christian Doctrine, and Integrating Faith into Life and Work.

General Education courses total 39 credit hours and cover the Bible, Communication/Speech, English Composition, Literature, History, College Algebra, Natural Science and Social Science. The remaining 49 credit hours are general elective credits.

The Biblical Studies and Ministry program at LETU offers students the ability to take all courses online or take evening courses at the Dallas or Houston campuses. All online classes are interactive and flexible for each students needs and convenience.

LeTourneau University is an interdenominational Christian university that is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges in Schools Commission on Colleges. University founder, R.G Letourneau was a world-renowned Christian leader who worked to provide students of LETU with the knowledge to become leaders in their own field of mission work.

    LeTourneau begins its faith statement by declaring “a deep faith in God is the cornerstone of LeTourneau University.” This private not-for-profit university began as an all male college in 1956 by R.G. and Evelyn LeTourneau in Longview, Texas. It transitioned to a co-educational facility by 1961. It is an interdenominational Christian-based organization that welcomes students from all denominations.
