Program Details

The Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies degree at LeTourneau University offers students the opportunity to create their own degree program based on their specific personal and career goals. The Interdisciplinary Studies degree is a customizable degree option for those who find no other degree program specifically fits their interests. Instead of majoring in one area of study, students of the Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies program are able to choose up to three concentrations of study or two concentrations and a minor.

Transfer credits are accepted by LeTourneau University from accredited institutions.

LeTourneau University offers its Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies degree entirely online or at the Austin, Bedford, Dallas, Houston, Longview or Tyler locations in Texas. All courses taken online are interactive and flexible. Classes taken online fit around each individual's personal day-to-day schedule. If taking courses on campus is preferred, students are able to take one night class a week at any of the aforementioned educational centers.

Classes are all taught through a Christian perspective. LeTourneau University as a whole is an interdenominational Christian university that strives to integrate faith into every degree program offered.

In terms of credit hours needed to complete degree requirements, students must take 21 credit hours for their first concentration, and 15 credit hours for each of their second and third concentrations. In total, 51 credit hours of major courses, selected by each individual student, are needed in conjunction with 68 credit hours of general education courses.

General education courses offered at LeTourneau University include The Bible, Speech, English/Composition, Foreign Language (one language), History, Humanities, Kinesiology, Literature, Math (College Algebra or above), Natural Science, and Social Science/ Humanities. Additionally, seven credit hours of elective courses are required. In total, the Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies degree requires completion of 126 credit hours in major, elective and general education courses.
