The online Graduate Certificate in Science in Education program teaches and inspires teachers to utilize “hands-on, interactive approaches to science learning” while emphasizing core K-8 science concepts and recent science research. The curriculum is a combination of required courses and electives with required courses including Introduction to Physical Science; Biology Explorations in Variation, Diversion, and Adaptation; Earth Science from a New Perspective; and Physics of Forces and Motion. Students can choose electives that meet their interests and backgrounds from topics that cover ecology, engineering, space science, and particles.
