Advanced Studies Certificate Program in Creativity, Leadership and Social Change
The Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) defines creative leadership as “the capacity to think and act beyond the boundaries that limit our effectiveness.” Just like the CCL, Lesley University recognizes that boundaries often do pose a problem to finding solutions, but these barriers by no means signify that a problem cannot be solved. Rather, through creative thinking, problem solving, and teamwork, effective solutions to almost any problem can be discovered.
The purpose of Lesley’s certificate program is to help individuals realize their full creative potential and to use these creative skills in leadership roles. Further, the program gives students the ability to help others find and utilize their own creativity, thus creating a deep system of organic thinking and problem solving that, when harnessed, can lead to great change.
This 15-credit program entails a range of classes, all centered around tapping into students' creativity, promoting leadership skills, and using the combination of these skills to promote social change. Lesley’s wide range of interdisciplinary classes assures that students can take courses that best fit their needs, and the school’s experienced faculty ensure that course content is both relevant and practical.
