Advanced Professional Certificate in Emergent Technologies for Educators

Program Details

Designed to explore the latest trends in education technology and how to apply them in the classroom, the Advanced Professional Certificate (APC) in Emergent Technologies in Education (ETE) program is ideal for classroom teachers, technology instructors, and other persons working in the education field. Through the program, students learn how to evaluate technological strategies and tools, accommodate them to fit their needs, and then apply them in their classroom. Topics include utilizing tools like smart phone apps, robotics, and other digital technologies.

Four classes, or 12 credits, make up this certification program. All courses are required and currently include Emerging Technologies; Creating and Using Apps in Your Classroom; Digital Technology: How it Works; and Introduction to Educational Robotics. Course offerings are always changing as new tools, trends, and research become available. All courses can be taken online.

The only program perquisite is that students have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited higher-education institution. The credits from this degree can be transferred into Lesley’s Individually Designed Masters in Education (M. Ed) program. Students wishing to pursue an M. Ed degree must apply to that program as acceptance into an APC program does not translate into M. Ed program acceptance.
