Program Overview

The General Logistics certificate program is designed to shorten the Global Logistics Technology degree program into essential courses necessary for immediate entry into careers utilizing distribution, transportation, and manufacturing skills. The many organizations that rely heavily on both international and local logistics typically seek academically trained professionals to perform a strategic blend of international business, business law, accounting, management, economics, and computer applications in the manufacturing and distribution of goods and services.

An essential part of a successful business is the participation in global business endeavors using the most current technology and logistics available to manage products, people, processes, services, and supply chains involved in daily functions. Students may use the certificate program’s courses to supplement previous educations and experiences or as the needed focus to acquire new positions when entering or advancing into the competitive business market.

Students must fulfill a total of 12 credit hours to earn this certificate, as well as use the learned concepts to become eligible for certification credentials through APICS, and AST&L. The certificate courses introduce students to 4 major parts of global logistics, and cover topics of study in courses such as A Basic introduction to Logistics, Transportation Logistics, and Purchasing Logistics.

Successful completion of the Global Logistics Technology certificate program may give graduates the career opportunities to pursue various positions within the international business environment. Graduates may also be able to use the diploma to seek careers in a wide range of government agencies, public and private entities, non-profit organizations, manufacturing, and service organizations.
