Program Overview

The Global Logistics Technology diploma program is designed to prepare students for positions using distribution, transportation, and manufacturing to satisfy an organization’s goals. Students in this diploma program may be able to use the concentrated curriculum to blend understandings of international business, business law, accounting, management, economics and computer applications to develop essential skills needed in the manufacturing and distribution of goods and services.

The technologically dependent business industry is comprised of many elements contributing to the success of an individual organization. An essential part of business is the prepared participation in global business endeavors using the current technology and logistics to manage products, people, processes, services, and supply chains involved in daily functions. Students may use the diploma curriculum to supplement previous educations and experiences or as the needed focus to acquire new positions when entering or advancing into the competitive business market. The specialized courses delve into topics of study related to the effective and efficient application of operations methodologies such as Computers Database Concepts, Transportation Logistics, and Logistics Systems & Security.

Students must satisfy 47 credit hours to earn the diploma designation, in addition to completing the diploma requirements. Students may also gain the necessary knowledge to be eligible for certification credentials through APICS, and AST&L. Successful completion of the Global Logistics Technology diploma program may give graduates the career opportunities to pursue various positions within the international business environment. Graduates may also be able to use the diploma to seek careers in a wide range of government agencies, public and private entities, non-profit organizations, manufacturing, and service organizations.

    Lenoir Community College is a two-year public school located in Kinston, North Carolina. LCC was established in 1958 by the State Board of Legislation. Lenoir Community College is part of the North Carolina Community College System. The school serves nearly 850,000 citizens annually through its primary service area, which includes Lenoir, Greene, and Jones counties.

    Lenoir Community College offers certificates of completion and associate’s degrees. The College offers many certificates and diploma options requiring less than two years for completion. Classes are offered during the daytime, evening, weekend, and in online format. Distance Education courses carry the same academic credit and rigor as traditional on-campus classes and follow the same semester start and end times. Online courses can be hybrid, web-assisted, internet-based, or video courses.
