Program Overview

The business industry is comprised of many different elements that contribute to the success of an individual organization. An intricate part of business is the participation in global business endeavors, and using the most current technology and logistics to manage products, people, processes, services, and supply chains involved in daily functions. Students may enroll in the Associate of Applied Science degree program at Lenoir Community College to focus on Global Logistics Technology in order to enter or advance in the competitive business market.

The AAS degree program is designed to prepare students for positions of Operations Manager or Supply Chain Coordinator, and many other careers using distribution, transportation, and manufacturing to satisfy an organizations duties. Students should be able to use the specialized curriculum to blend comprehensions of international business, business law, accounting, management, economics and computer applications to develop essential skills needed in the manufacturing and distribution of goods and services.

In addition to the required coursework, students will use field studies, laboratory applications of logistics management and relevant technologies to demonstrate a full understanding of the AAS programs objectives. Students must satisfy 68 credit hours to earn the Associate’s degree designation, as well as gain the necessary minimums to be eligible for certification credentials through APICS, and AST&L.

Successful completion of the Global Logistics Technology degree program should give graduates the opportunity to gain various operations positions within the international business playing field. Graduates may be able to use the degree to seek careers in a wide range of government agencies, public and private entities, non-profit organizations, manufacturing, and service organizations.

    Lenoir Community College is a two-year public school located in Kinston, North Carolina. LCC was established in 1958 by the State Board of Legislation. Lenoir Community College is part of the North Carolina Community College System. The school serves nearly 850,000 citizens annually through its primary service area, which includes Lenoir, Greene, and Jones counties.

    Lenoir Community College offers certificates of completion and associate’s degrees. The College offers many certificates and diploma options requiring less than two years for completion. Classes are offered during the daytime, evening, weekend, and in online format. Distance Education courses carry the same academic credit and rigor as traditional on-campus classes and follow the same semester start and end times.
