The study of English is an academic discipline that encompasses literatures written in the English language as well as the production and analysis of texts created in English. Gaining a formal academic education in English from Lenoir Community College should prepare students with the foundational concepts in literature and written communication to be used as the skills needed when pursuing personal and professional aspirations.

Lenoir Community College is a two-year public school located in Kinston, North Carolina. LCC was established in 1958 by the State Board of Legislation. Lenoir Community College is part of the North Carolina Community College System. The school serves nearly 850,000 citizens annually through its primary service area, which includes Lenoir, Greene, and Jones counties.
Lenoir Community College offers certificates of completion and associate’s degrees. The College offers many certificates and diploma options requiring less than two years for completion. Classes are offered during the daytime, evening, weekend, and in online format. Distance Education courses carry the same academic credit and rigor as traditional on-campus classes and follow the same semester start and end times. Online courses can be hybrid, web-assisted, internet-based, or video courses.
