Program Overview

Lenoir Community College offers students the opportunity to earn the Associate in Arts in Psychology. Students will participate in courses designed to deepen the understanding of essential concepts when studying mental behavior. The associate degree program serves as the foundational education for students seeking immediate entry into the workforce or as the needed credentials to transfer to a four-year college or university to continue their studies at a bachelor level. The introductory program is designed to give students the core liberal arts education in topics of fine arts, humanities, the natural and social sciences, mathematics, literature and physical education. This will be in addition to the student’s choice of psychology electives. The basic focus on psychology should prepare students for future educational pursuits, or for immediate entry into some institutions performing under the guidance of licensed and certified professionals.
