Ministry Leadership--Discipleship Emphasis BA
Lee University offers a degree program in Ministry Leadership with an emphasis in Discipleship. This degree may prepare students to enter a career as a minister as well as begin a possible career in many church environments. The program is divided into 5 different sections. The first section is the Religion Core. Classes in these sections consist of: Methods of Bible Study, Foundations of Western Culture, The second section is for the General Education Core. This section is broken up into 4 subsections: Humanities, Communications, Social Science, and Mathematics.
Thirty credits are set aside for the Ministry Leadership Specialty Area, and the Discipleship Emphasis requires 24 credits. The final section of the degree is for general electives in which students may chose any two classes outside of the Ministry Leadership realm in which they may have interest.
This program aims to provide students with the skills to take part in Christian leadership in positions such as pastors, ministry leaders, teachers, evangelists, and managers in Christian businesses. Upon graduation, students should be well-versed in developing relationships with individuals of various ethnic backgrounds and religious beliefs, combining religious knowledge with academic backgrounds and research, and be able to develop a ministry plan to help serve those from urban and under-developed areas.

Lee University is a four-year private school located in Cleveland, Tennessee. The school was established in 1918 as a Bible Training School until 1947 when the name was changed to Lee College. The school was granted university status in 1997. Lee has become one of the largest Christ-centered private institutions in Tennessee and the largest in the Appalachian College Association.
Lee University offers bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and post-master certificates. Academic programs are made up of four colleges and schools:

Online classes are offered through the division of Adult Learning using a program called Moodle. Courses are offered fully online, in an intensive format (hybrid online and onsite mix), or fully onsite at Lee education centers. Several undergraduate and graduate degrees are offered completely online, as well as certificates in ministry.
