Christian Education Certificate
The Certificate of Christian Education is designed to prepare prospective and current Christian educators to teach from a distinctly Christian approach. This program will give students a strong foundation for entering the Education field. This certificate may be applied toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Education at Lee University.
The outcome of taking this Certificate program will be to gain a strong foundation in the education process for entering the classroom as an educator. The student will come away with a greater understanding in using a variety of teaching techniques and methods, using technology in the classroom, the importance of classroom management, and the philosophy of Christian Education. The student will also walk away with an understanding and ability to discuss the current issues we face in the education system as well as dealing with interpersonal relationships in education. This course would benefit students who would like to become pastors, youth leaders, and ministry leaders.
The certificate in Christian Education is designed to take fewer than two years for a student to complete. If a student is enrolled full-time (9 credits per module) they will finish the program in six months. There is no sequence or order to the course enrollment. Students can take the required courses in any order. The program is offered entirely online to ensure flexibility.

Lee University is a four-year private school located in Cleveland, Tennessee. The school was established in 1918 as a Bible Training School until 1947 when the name was changed to Lee College. The school was granted university status in 1997. Lee has become one of the largest Christ-centered private institutions in Tennessee and the largest in the Appalachian College Association.
Lee University offers bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and post-master certificates. Academic programs are made up of four colleges and schools:

Online classes are offered through the division of Adult Learning using a program called Moodle. Courses are offered fully online, in an intensive format (hybrid online and onsite mix), or fully onsite at Lee education centers. Several undergraduate and graduate degrees are offered completely online, as well as certificates in ministry.
