Public Relations Certificate
Lasell College offers a Public Relations Certificate for professionals in marketing and other fields whose professional goals and interests can be assisted by certification and education relating to the development of public relations, promotions, and interpersonal communications. Students will learn about the processes involved in designing, developing, testing, implementing, and measuring the impact of communications designed to manage and improve the brand image of organizations, products, and other consumer and branded items.
Students will focus on a curriculum that involves the development of communication strategies which emphasize public relations. Some of the classes individuals in the program will take include: principles of public relations, crisis communications, writing for public relations, graphic design for the marketplace, corporate communication, marketing research, intercultural communication, community relations, public relations in non-profit settings, and governmental relations.
Following completion of the program, students will have demonstrated the necessary professional and educational qualifications for tasks relating to public relations. These qualifications consist of: the ability to demonstrate an understanding of theory, tools, skills, practices, and research related to communications and the utilization of media to communicate interpersonally and broadcasting, demonstrate effective professional and knowledge of practices necessary for communications, to develop a range of professional communication strategies that promote their effectiveness in business environments and other environments and to demonstrate an understanding ethical, legal, and responsible behavior in use of communications to prevent intentional or unintentional miscommunication.

Candidates to the certificate programs must hold a bachelor’s degree and submit an application for study in the graduate program along with all necessary documents.
