Program Overview

Lasell College offers a Project Management Certificate for professionals in business that are interested in supplementing their education and career experience with the study of projects management. Students will learn to develop the skills necessary in the application of project management in public and private organizations. In addition, individuals will garner the knowledge and skills required for the management of production projects as well as projects within different industries.

Students will study project management through a curriculum specializing in practical studies in project management. Those classes include the principles of project management, business strategy, change management, conflict resolution and negotiation, research methods, fundraising and development, policy and politics in elder care, multicultural issues in aging, senior facilities management, human resources management, human resources management, elder care management challenges, health management for seniors, marketing research, marketing communication, sales marketing, social marketing, and ethical theory in management.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will have demonstrated their qualifications in practical topics relating to business project management. Those qualifications include the ability to lead and deliver advanced and effective project management, to demonstrate an understanding of the theory and practice of fundamental project management disciplines and phases, to demonstrate and understanding of organizational behavior, people management, and people and cultures essential for successful project management in multicultural settings, and to demonstrate understanding of project methodologies in professional environments.

    Requirements

    Candidates to the certificate programs must hold a bachelor’s degree and submit an application for study in the graduate program along with all necessary documents.

    School Overview

    Lasell College is a four-year private school located in Newton, Massachusetts. Lasell College was founded in 1851 as the Auburndale Female Seminary, a nationally respected women’s academy, by Edward Lasell. Lasell died the first semester that the school was running. The name changed to Lasell Seminary for Young Women and was known as an innovative institution that had a radical approach (for the time) to women’s education. In 1932, the school’s name changed again to Lasell Junior College and became Lasell College in 1989.

    Lasell College offers bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees. LC has traditional classes as well as online courses. Lasell’s graduate programs are flexible and convenient, so students pursue an advanced degree that fits into their personal and professional lives. All master's degrees are offered online with six start dates throughout the year.
