Elder Care Marketing Certificate
Lasell College offers an Elder Care Marketing Certificate for professionals in business interested in developing a practical understanding of methods utilized to market services and products for the elderly and the aged. Students will learn about elder care products and services, such as housing and care options available to older adults and will study the needs of individuals at various stages of age and by doing so. In addition, students will learn about gerontology and the stages of physiological, psychological, social, and environmental changes that occur, for the purpose of developing a practical understanding of marketing strategies for seniors and the elderly.
Students will develop their skills through a curriculum involving development of practical skills related to marketing of products and services to seniors and the elderly. Those classes include marketing to seniors, consumer behavior, housing and long-term care options for older adults, research methods, social gerontology, policy and politics of elder care, multicultural issues in aging, services and programs for older adults, senior facilities management, human resources management, elder care management challenges, health management for seniors, marketing research, marketing communications, sales marketing, social marketing, and ethical theory in management.
Students completing the program will have demonstrated their professional and educational qualifications in marketing services and products related to elder care. These qualifications include but are not limited to: the ability to demonstrate an understanding of theory, tools, skills, practices, and research related to marketing, to demonstrate effective professional and interpersonal practices essential in marketing, to develop a range of professional strategies that promote their effectiveness in a business environment and to demonstrate ethical, legal, and responsible behavior when marketing to seniors and the elderly.

Candidates to the certificate programs must hold a bachelor’s degree and submit an application for study in the graduate program along with all necessary documents.
Lasell College is a four-year private school located in Newton, Massachusetts. Lasell College was founded in 1851 as the Auburndale Female Seminary, a nationally respected women’s academy, by Edward Lasell. Lasell died the first semester that the school was running. The name changed to Lasell Seminary for Young Women and was known as an innovative institution that had a radical approach (for the time) to women’s education. In 1932, the school’s name changed again to Lasell Junior College and became Lasell College in 1989.
Lasell College offers bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees. LC has traditional classes as well as online courses. Lasell’s graduate programs are flexible and convenient, so students pursue an advanced degree that fits into their personal and professional lives. All master's degrees are offered online with six start dates throughout the year.
