Interested in national security, forensics, or law enforcement? Lamar University offers an online Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice preparing students for careers in criminal justice. Courses are available in 8-week and 15-week intervals. Online schooling provides the flexibility for students to still work and pursue goals while completing a degree. Lamar’s online B.S. program has multiple start dates accommodating many different schedules.
The Criminal Justice program at Lamar University requires 36 semester hours of core Criminal Justice courses. For successful completion of a B.S. in Criminal Justice, students must maintain a 2.0 GPA to remain in the program. Students must receive no less than a “C” grade in each course in the Criminal Justice program.
Other required courses include Social/Behavioral Science Cognate Courses (3 SH), Research and Analysis (9 SH), Criminal Justice Field Experience (3 SH), Minor or Approved Electives (18 SH). Additional electives may need to be taken to fulfill the degree requirement of 120 semester hours.
