Program Details

The Certificate in Medical Coding Specialist is an online medical billing and coding degree from Lamar Institute of Technology.  This is a 40-semester credit hour certificate that is designed to prepare students for the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam.  Students learn to code the diagnoses and procedures for healthcare services provided to patients while deciphering the explanation of benefits and processing claims.  Coursework teaches you how to code, classify, and index diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS.  You will also study:
