    School Overview

Lakeland University is a four-year private Christian school located in Plymouth, Wisconsin. German immigrants fleeing religious controversy in Europe traveled to the Sheboygan area and founded the school in 1862 as a Mission House, a combination of a seminary and a college. The name Lakeland University was adopted in 1956. Today, enrollment is no longer limited to pre-theological students and the college has developed strong programs of study in a wider number of disciplines.

Lakeland University offers undergraduate majors, master’s programs, and several corporate training opportunities that are all taught by real-world practitioners. Although the college doesn’t emphasize its Christian roots as much any more, students who choose religion as a major will be taught according to Judeo-Christian principles. Lakeland University has several locations where weekend, evening, study abroad, and online courses are taught.
