Program Details

The online MS in Medical Education degree program from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine consists of three major components:

  • Core Foundations in Medical Education – Provides pragmatic knowledge and theory in the principles of medical education, educational psychology, teaching in the clinical environment, administrative skills, and educational leadership
  • Educational Skills Practicum – Focuses an in-depth study on the advancement of the practice of teaching and educational research
  • Educational Scholarship Thesis Project – Guides students through the process of developing a curriculum or other research project in healthcare education


  • Requires attendance of two-day experience near end of program
  • Requires 32 credits for completion
  • Minimum of a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • One letter of recommendation
