La Roche University offers the online BA in Medical Imaging. This major is meant to prepare students for a career in Medical Imaging, including, but not limited to, radiography, MRI, nuclear medicine and ultrasound. Graduates of the medical imaging program will use principles of radiation protection to reduce exposure factors when positioning patients for a variety of examinations and understand the complicated computerized equipment for specific procedures. Medical imaging technicians are also able to assist in the surgical procedures performed during examinations, assessing the technical quality of the image, and providing basic patient care while functioning as a member of the health care team.
Graduates will be well prepared for entry-level positions in the medical industry.
This bachelor-completion program requires 120 credits for degree completion, including transfer credits.
