Master of Divinity - Messianic Jewish Studies
The Master of Divinity (MDiv) in Messianic Jewish Studies Degree program at The King’s University is designed for students who wish to gain the Biblical skills and knowledge necessary to enter ordained ministry. The program focuses on the integration of history, theology, and modern Jewish practices and current contexts in order to instill a complete understanding of what it takes to lead spiritually in a modern environment. Taken predominately online, this program provides flexibility for working individuals, allowing students to design a program, in conjunction with advisors and professors, that best reflects their own specific goals or calling. An MDiv Degree is the most recognized degree for ministry, so students can expect to take on such faith-based leadership in Jewish worship organizations or other parachurch institutions.
To complete this program, students must complete a total of 138 credits of graduate level courses, in what is typically a 3-year schedule. These required hours are split into 8 distinct sections. 18 credits are devoted to topics in Biblical Studies, with courses in Biblical Hermeneutics, the Old and New Testaments, and Exegetical Principles; 18 to the area of Theological and Historical Studies, with courses in Christian Theology, History of the Modern and Early Churches, and Pentecostal and Charismatic Movements; 6 to the area of Resource Studies; 6 to Theological electives; 12 to Biblical electives; 9 to Supervised Ministry; and 39 to the core area of the Practices of Ministry Studies, which gives the student insight into their various roles as leaders, communicators, evangelists, teachers, counselors, reconcilers, liturgists, and pastoral care-givers. The remaining 30 credits go towards Jewish Studies electives chosen by the student.
Applicants must have a Bachelor Degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution and a minimum 2.0 overall GPA.
